I was meticulous in every aspect of this self-portrait: I want people to see this and know who I am and what I'm about as an artist, perhaps even understand me better on a personal, intimate level.
Where I'm from (LA mountains) is important to me, and the influence the land and city has had on me is profound. Even with endless city sprawl, nature is integral to LA's character: perpetual sunshine weather, abundant beautiful hiking trails, and beachside breeze cannot be removed from SoCal identity. And it cannot be removed from mine either.
